Service of Commemoration Sunday 28th November 2021

By the Secret WW2 Learning Network for the WAAF and RAFVR agents of M.I.9 and the Special Operations Executive (SOE). And the aircrew of the Special Duties Squadrons of the Royal Air Force all of whom are commemorated on the Runnymede Air Forces War Memorial.
The service was held on Sunday 28th November 2021 and it was led by Reverend (Squadron Leader) Martin Sheldon RAF, Royal Air Force Station, Odiham. The Trumpeter is Corporal Cristan Richards of the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, playing by permission of the Air Force Board of the Defence Council.

from Bob Body, RAF Tempsford historian, read by Mrs Yvette Pitt, daughter of the late Section Officer Yvonne Cormeau, WAAF and F Section, SOE who was flown into occupied France by the late Wing Commander Len Ratcliff.

Ray Windmill recited the Exhortation and Jonathan Saunders recited the Kohima Epitaph. Both are Friends of the SWW2LN.
The Service was conducted in the presence of members of the families of Lilian Rolfe and Yolande Beekman who also placed wreaths at the Stone of Remembrance.
Standards of the Royal British Legion, Carshalton, Wallington & District: Standard-Bearer Ashley Dickenson; Union Flag Standard: Standard-Bearer Edd Jones; Standard of the WAAF WRAF RAF(W) Association; Standard-Bearer Michelle Ruzzak, and Tracy Watson placed a wreath on behalf of the Association.
